In the past few weeks we have successfully located some great new Gold panning sites outside of Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. After prospecting several streams and rivers with a few new friends whom are also Gold prospectors, we have located more promising sites with a bit easier access than some of the others that we normally pan.
One of the newest streams does have a handful of locals that work it almost daily. They usually find between 2 and 4 grams a day per person just using a shovel, pick and a wooden homemade Gold pan. Not a bad income for these guys.
We have recently added a few new tools to our arsenal, a gold wheel, a gold trommel, several new gold pans by different manufacturers and 2 new Keene engineering sluice boxes. Next to come is a gold dredge. I have been trying to put into service a useful syphon dredge, but still working out a few kinks to make it work properly.
The area here is very rich in Gold as well as history all the way back to when Christopher Columbus discover the Island back in 1492.
