Heavy metals can cause oxidative injury to both internal and external components of cells. This form of harm exists where the metal (a free radical) takes an electron from strong regular tissue. This loss of electrons when transpiring within the cell causes DNA break down, harm to protein amalgamation, change of lipid membranes, and cell death (apoptosis).
