Step by Step Instructions For Cleaning a Bathroom

Bathrooms are usually the cleanest place in the house but, a pain to clean. It may be a dirty job but it needs to be done. Get your cleaning materials together and go do your work. Putting all the cleaning supplies into a bin that one could tote from one place to another is a good idea; do this when it's time to do the general cleaning of the house. However, a bathroom might use just as many kinds of products as the entire house might use--and even more. Bathroom surface cleaner, window washing fluid, toilet bowl cleaner, dust rags, paper towels, sponges, scrub brush, and floor cleaner, you should have another bin that holds just the bathroom cleaning supplies which includes soup scum and mildew remover.

The first step to cleaning a bathroom is to remove any dirty clothes or dirty towels and make sure that everything is in its place. Remove any rugs to wash as well. The shower can be the hardest part of the bathroom to clean. If it's not cleaned on a regular basis,it is the most likely place to get a build up of soap scum and mildew. I like to start there,so, since cleaning the shower is going to exhaust most of my energy. If you squirt the shower, sink or toilet with cleaner and let it soak you won't have to scrub so long or hard. Make sure you clean the shower curtain or door. There are a lot of shower cleaning products. The decision about what kind of products to use is for you to make. Be careful to rinse the shower competely after you have cleaned it. This product just removes any loose dirt and chemicals.

The next step in cleaning a bathroom is cleaning the mirrors, after the shower is cleaned. In our house, we love to write messages to each other in the mirror after a hot shower has made it all foggy. But the down side is that it leaves streaks on the mirror. Dust the bathroom moldings, shelves, door frames, and baseboards with rags.

your next step is to clean the sink thoroughly. Don't forget to clean the faucets too! Clean the sink with any product designed for bathroom or kitchen surfaces. This also includes any counter tops or the pedestal of a pedestal sink. When you have finished cleaning the sink now you can do the messiest job in the bathroom; the toilet. A toilet has a number of areas, all of which need to be thoroughly cleaned. The inner areas of the toilet can be scrubbed with a common toilet brush and a small amount of toilet bowl cleanser or an expendable toilet bowl cleanser. The under part of the lid and the seat also needs to be wiped clean and the rim of the bowl. A good surface cleaner is very good for cleaning the back of a toilet. An area of the toilet that some people overlook is the pedestal especially towards the back near the floor. For this also, you can use a surface cleaner.

The final work to do in the bathroom is mopping the floor and taking out the trash. Paper towels are great to clean the bathroom with. Sponges and rags must be cleaned themselves, or all they do is spread germs. It is better to use a disposable product on some jobs that can just be pitched after use (and will be biodegradable). Of course I throw all of the dirty paper towels in the bathroom garbage so the end of cleaning the bathroom for me is emptying the garbage.
