Switch off the machine for 15 minutes and repeat the procedure to ensure that there are no more traces of vinegar on the coffee machine.

You can actually wash some parts of automatic coffee machines with soap and warm water, so do this to your machine's filter basket and carafe. Make sure to dry off the parts completely before you put these back in the coffee machine. Do this once a month and you’ll start to notice that when you use vinegar to clean your machine your coffee will taste better and you’ll prolong the life of the machine.
