The lottery is a game with a lot of cash going out to winners and there are winners constantly in some way or another. This is terrific news for all those who play the lottery on a daily bases. But the not so wonderful news is the truth that that with that much cash coming in and heading out there are people who want something for nothing.
To keep from getting cheated out of winning the lottery you should know most of the scams that are out there. After all how mad would it make you to know that you won something from the lotteries just to have it taken from you. I'm not sure about you but I would prefer to know how to notice these scams not only to look after myself but others as will.
One common scam involves tickets that have got to be scanned by cashiers at shops to see if the ticket is a winner. Normally the machine that scans the ticket has some sort of bell or chime that goes off if the ticket is a winner and in this instance the cashier will state you have won but doesn’t provide the full quantity of the ticket. The teller then hands you a portion of the winnings preserving the rest for themselves.
The following scam is a spin off of the earlier mentioned lottery scam. In this case the bell or chime has been disabled or the machine doesn’t have one. As you can picture from the initial case this can be a serious problem for the winner of the lottery. So it runs like this, you hand the cashier your winning ticket, it is then scanned and discovered to be a winner but the teller says sorry it’s a dud. The fact is it was a winner and the cashier got the winnings.
Though not so much a scam as much as cheap, there is some lotteries that will supply further prizes for folks that mail in their tickets. In this instance cashiers will look for as many tickets as possible and mail them in, in the hopes that they will win something.
Many people think the lottery is a game of luck but the truth is it is a game of numbers and if you start to think of it like that you are on your way to winning already.
