Visiting all the weekend garage sales used to be a great family event back in the day. When the newspaper came, the yard sale section would be read and reread by both mom and dad so no deals would be missed. To save time and gas by making one big loop addresses would be mapped out. We would all pile in the car, excited for the adventures. You may have to stop every 15 minutes because the kids are fighting or need to use the bathroom and this interrupts your shopping over and over. It takes a long time to find the address and you might feel like you will never ever find it.’ (We* blankve all been there, done that!) On a ‘good* blank day the car can be loaded to the gills with little treasures stuffed everywhere and anywhere. Sometimes it* blanks amazing just to find the fighting, cranky and tired children amongst the ‘must have collectable items* blank. Finally having had enough it"s time to head home where it* blanks time to really check out the newly purchased gems that were just dragged back only to find this is broken or that is chipped. Whose idea of a ‘fun''' family day was this again?

Then someone came up with the flea market idea. Alot of people pack up their household items and bring them to one location to sale. After having to deal with traffic, finding a parking spot and the overwhelming mob of other shoppers, mom is exhausted before looking at the wares of one vender. The possessions are often disorganized, making it impossible to keep an eye on every little piece. If you happen to discover a booth which usually carries goods with a similar taste to yours, they might not be at the market again next week or their booth might be moved so you have to waste time trying to find them. They have to be toted through many buildings often without a bag before returning to the car, once the purchases are made. This outing does not turn out to be a good time either.

The goodwill store had great intentions. Donations go on sale at rock bottom prices. All racks, tables and shelves are over run with stuff piled on top of each other. It's so frustrating to look for hours looking for the perfect buy and still leave without anything. Children are often allowed to run wild, screaming and palying among the racks. A headache is something mom will be leaving with.
