When you are in an MLM what is the most effective way to generate leads to run a successful business?

This becomes a daunting task for most people. In the network marketing world, your upline will tell you to make a “list” of 100 people ranging from bank tellers to your mom. This is your “warm market”. Your upline will speak of momentum. You take your marching orders and go our and prospect your “warm market”. You call your mom, dad, distant cousins, people you don’t even like.

Slowly your warm market turns into a dead fish. You have now resorted to putting up fliers in Laundromats, small businesses, college campuses, supermarkets, coffee shops, anywhere with a bulletin board. You name it; I’ve done it and let me tell you, it is not cheap. Fliers, samples, CD’s magazines all cost money. What is the next step? Without customers and prospects I have no business.

Next I thought I could purchase leads from a reputable company. This did not work out very well for me. I received mostly answering machines and the few people I did talk to, hung up right away, or told me to email them. Purchasing leads is basically a new way to say “cold calling”. The “leads” that you buy are “pre-screened”. Cold calling is dead in network marketing. Once again the leads cost money. At this point I was spending way more than I was making. I became so desperate I enrolled by dog into my business as a customer just to maintain my sales quota. There is a way to make leads come to you. Stop pursuing, no one like to be hunted.

With the technology and the Internet we have proven better methods to generate leads. 70% of all Americans have a Facebook page. People don’t even talk on the phone anymore. I decided to take thing “offline” and start looking “online”. The best thing about generating leads online is that anyone can learn to do it. One of the most important things that a person who wants to generate leads online is attraction marketing. People want to learn about you. You must learn, care, and develop an ongoing relationship with people you are prospecting. You must learn to sell yourself. What separates you from the crowd.Why should someone work with you?These are just some of the principles of attraction marketing.You must become a leader. People crave leadership. There are many ways to generate leads online. There is no quick fix or magic pill.It takes time, engery, and perseverance.You will need to stay focused on your goals each day.

In closing we only have one life to life. I want to experience the best that life has to offer. I want to share my story and help as many people as I can. Don’t let another day pass you by.
