I get this question all the time: “How can I quickly lose weight?”. My response? Sever an arm off! I am teasing of course but the truth is when someone loses weight quickly they usually do it in an harmful and unsustainable way. Then after a short duration of time they gain the weight they lost right back, and then some.
You see, a absurd question deserves a absurd answer. By cutting off an arm you are sure not to gain the body weight back. Most people are hoping for a “quick fix” or a new miracle pill. But most don't understand that by doing small and consistent things in a different way you can ensure long term and steady weight maintenance without the fear of gaining it all back (plus a few extra in most cases).
People all over the world are searching for new and improved ways to slim down, burn fat, and look good with the lights turned on. The reality is that most people assume that dramatically altering their diet is the only way. What this does is produces a situation where the dieter starves him/her self of the foods they really enjoy. Well, even the most self-disciplined of us cannot go without our favorite eats forever. This promises disaster and is one of the main causes for the yo-yo dieting condition.
So what happens next? The dieter turns to supplements, fat burners and appetite suppressants to try to find an easy way burn fat and lose weight. Some of these pills work along with diet and exercise, but many turn out to be harmful or even deadly.
The regrettable reality is that many don't want to deal with the real cause of the problem, their habits. These methods create a dangerous cycle that causes unhealthy weight fluctuations, losing and gaining weight repeatedly. Without altering our thoughts and behaviors, we are doomed to repeat our mistakes. Dieting alone doesn’t work. Neither does only taking fat burners and supplements. The surprising thing is that by slightly modifying our daily routines we can ultimately burn more calories and lose more weight, and keep it off…for good!
There are a number of different programs out there designed to teach us to lose weight the proper way. It doesn’t require tons of research or reading. A word of caution however: NOT all programs are created equal! I've personally wasted close to $8000 on various programs and products out there that were completely useless! And that's not including all the gym memberships over the years. My objective is to prevent others from making the same mistakes I have!
Make certain you understand that changing your physique requires a persistent change in your activities and thinking and by using these programs you are complimenting your new ways of being.
