Snake Venom For Arthritis

Author: Amy Clark

Dr. Nafthali Primor, Shulov Institute for Sciences Research and Development Manager was the first physician to suggest the venom of snakes as a powerful natural remedy for arthritis pain.

Nafthali Primor and his team have uncovered certain potent chemicals in the venom of diverse species of cobras, vipers, and rattle snakes. Such substances are powerful analgesics for chronic pain produced by various diseases, like cancer and especially arthritis which predominantly leads to excessive pain.

History of Snake Venom Use

Although Dr. Nafthali Primor’s declaration was the first official recognition of the curative properties of snake venom, this idea has been popular for years. Long before Nafthali Primor conducted his research, people have already claimed being cured of arthritis through snake bites alone.

The first reported case was that of a 66 year old Englishman who suffered from chronic arthritis. Bitten by a snake, he informed the BBC news channel in 2002 that his finger joint pain was completely gone within three to four weeks after the bite. However, the pain came back shortly after, first only mildly for two months, and then returning in full force in the succeeding months. Not surprisingly, the snake bite phenomenon were noticed by some individuals at that point.

Dr. Nafthali Primor and Snake Venom

When he was younger, Primor already claimed an uncanny fascination for snakes. Primor quickly became involved in studying the healing properties of snake venom. This is probably why he was destined to ultimately reveal snake venom treatment for arthritis.

Back in the 80s, someone named Dr. Shulov told Dr. Nafthali Primor that Russians have long been using venom salves in treating chronic aches and pains. This information inspired Dr. Primor to study the concept further.

Snake Venom Arthritis Methods

The original pain analgesic invented was the VeP-3, which was derived from Palestinian Viper venom. Dr. Nafthali Primor documented that of the thousand or so molecules found in the venom of snakes, just four to five molecules are actually poisonous. This indicates that at least ninety nine percent of the venom is safe and thus can be harnessed for a range of medicinal possibilities.

Dr. Nafthali Primor presently aims to complete a snake venom anti-pain salve to specifically target arthritis pain. He alludes to a “super aspirin” pill by Merck & Company named “Aggrastat”, which effectively prevents heart attacks and blood clots. This medication is also based on snake venom.

Currently, snake venom arthritis methods are still being improved and perfected. Scientists continue to examine ways with which snake venom can be safely and effectively used for various healing purposes. Research efforts also aim to achieve a potent cream that will ultimately treat arthritis. In the interim, while the world awaits further discoveries in snake venom, please take care not to risk yourself by getting snake bites on your own.
